A Coffee Bar Is The One Thing You Didn't Know Your Home Needed

I cannot have a proper start to my morning without a piping hot cup of coffee. The world can wait until I've inhaled the delicious aroma and tasted my first sip of a nice dark roast coffee. My favorite kinds will have hints of dark chocolate and toffee. Delicious. Usually around 2 or 3 I want a bit of a warm up and reach for a second cup of coffee to give my brain another jolt.

My father used to tell me that drinking green tea with your meal helps with digestion, so drinking green tea with lunch has now become routine for me. And an herbal tea right before bed is part of my "turn off the technology and relax" practice to help me fall asleep. The bottom line is that coffee and tea is not just part of my mornings: it's part of my entire day.

So when Jesse and I bought our house, I knew that I wanted to make one thing: a coffee bar. I wanted our coffee and tea station to be a separate area. I wanted it to be a place where people can grab a coffee or tea while I'm whipping up dessert in the kitchen. Or on weekends, while I'm making a nice big breakfast of eggs, sausage, toast, and fruit, Jesse can make us big cups of delicious coffee, all without getting in my way.

We had a shelf and a short dresser that we moved with us and didn't have a use for, so I knew that with a few tweaks we could make a bar. Dressers and cupboards are good to use because they have drawers to keep tea, sugar jars and k-cups organized and within reach. With a few extra touches, like a cute coffee sign and a mug tree, we made our coffee bar. It's a little shrine to the beautiful deity caffeine and I will never again have a house without one.

Here are some coffee bars out there that will peak your interest and get your creative juices flowing:

Inspired? Here is everything you'll need to complete the look:

Mug Tree

null

Don't hide your cute mugs in a cupboard. Instead, use them as part of the decor and put them on display!

Kettle

null

For tea, hot chocolate, or coffee, you need quick access to a kettle.

Keurig

null

I love Keurigs for entertaining. Your guests can grab whatever they want and help themselves!

Coffee Press

null

This is my favorite way to make coffee. It tastes better than a coffee machine and is easy peasy. Plus they look fancy if you keep them out.

Coffee Grinder

null

Don't buy already ground coffee. Just don't. It doesn't taste nearly as good. Trust me.

Coffee Bean Jar

null

Coffee beans look cute when they are in a clear jar sitting on your coffee bar.

Cute Coffee Sign

null

Whether it's a sign telling people not to talk to you until you've had your first cup, or it's just a cute sign telling people that it's your coffee bar, you're going to need something.

Cute Coffee Mug Set

null

You're going to want some super cute mugs to display on your mug tree, so invest in some cute ones. I love that these ones come with a spoon!
